Student's Honor Code

1 General provisions 

1.1 Honor - the moral qualities of a person worthy of respect and pride, and their corresponding principles.

 

1.2 The Code of Honor is the sum of the rules of conduct of a decent person. The Code of Honor is not a punitive document. The student behaves in accordance with this Code because he is decent, educated, civilized.

 

1.3 Students of the Higher College of Engineering and Technology (VITK), realizing their responsibility for the implementation of the mission of the College to train high-class and highly moral specialists of the Republic of Kazakhstan, considering it their duty to maintain and develop the corporate culture of students, to preserve the image of VITK as a leading institution of the education system and the center for training professional personnel in Western Kazakhstan, accept this Code of Honor of the College student and undertake to strictly follow it.

This Code has been developed taking into account the requirements of the following regulatory documents:

 

2.1 Of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

 

2.2 of the Law "On Education".

 

2.3 of the Law "On State Youth Policy in the Republic of Kazakhstan".

 

2.4 of the Charter of the college.

 

2.5 Internal regulations for college students.

 

2.6 Decisions of higher authorities and instances.

 

3 Main tasks

 

Ensuring compliance with the rights set out in the legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Education", the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan «On State Youth Policy».

 

4 Main functions

 

4.1 The student strives to become a worthy citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a professional in the chosen specialty, to develop the best qualities of the individual. Comply with the current legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Charter of the VITK, internal regulations and other regulations of the College.

 

4.2 Takes care of maintaining a high pedagogical culture, an atmosphere of trust and mutual respect in the student environment. Seeks to resolve emerging conflicts in a peaceful way, not to allow the use of violence against other students. The student does not tolerate rudeness towards others and shows empathy for socially vulnerable people and takes care of them as far as possible.

 

4.3 The student recognizes as necessary and useful any activity aimed at the development of creative activity (scientific and educational, sports, artistic, etc.), to improve the corporate culture and image of the college.

 

4.4 Show courtesy in relations with teachers, staff, and representatives of the College administration, avoid familiarity with them, and avoid rudeness and inaccuracy.

 

4.5 Refrain from conduct that may damage the student's reputation and the authority of the College. The student always remembers that he represents his college and supports the image of the college with his behavior, attitude to study, appreciate and respect its traditions.

 

4.6 Refrain from all kinds of bad habits. The student leads a healthy lifestyle, promotes a positive attitude of young people to health, and the belief in the possibility of its preservation and improvement.

 

4.7 Takes care of the safety of the property of the College and does not allow vandalism.

 

4.8 It must look neat, its appearance must comply with ethical standards and must not interfere with educational activities, distract the attention of students and teachers from the educational process.

 

4.9 The student is a model of decency, culture and morality, is intolerant of immorality and does not allow discrimination on the basis of gender, nationality or religion.

 

4.10 The student considers it his duty to fight against all types of academic dishonesty, including:

 

  • do not provide other students with the actual work that is being evaluated;
  • do not use ready-made answers to tests, exercises and tasks, ready-made written works;
  • do not use cheat sheets, electronic means of information and communication in exams, tests;
  • cheating and asking others for help in passing the knowledge control procedures;
  • presentation of any volume of ready-made educational materials, including Internet resources, as the results of their own work;
  • using family or service connections to get a higher score;
  • absenteeism, tardiness, and missing classes without a valid reason;
  • the student considers all the listed types of academic dishonesty as incompatible with obtaining a high-quality and competitive education, worthy of a future specialist.

 

5 Familiarization with the student's Code of Honor, compliance with its requirements and monitoring of its implementation

 

5.1 This Code is published after its adoption and is widely available to college students.

 

5.2 Students should be familiar with the requirements of the Code.

 

5.3 All students are required to comply with the requirements of this Code.

 

5.4 the Student who found the violation of the provisions of the Code, must try to stop it on their own or to notify the administration.

 

5.5 students a Violation of the honor Code shall entail disciplinary action.

 

5.6 For familiarizing students with this Code is the responsibility of supervisors.

 

6 Changes

 

6.1 Changes and additions to this Code will be made on the proposals of students on the basis of decisions of the Council of Youth Self-Government of the VITK once every five years.

 

6.2 The basis for the revision of the Code once a year is the presence of at least five proposals from the students of the VITK.
